First PVR, US or Japan? HDTV Sony pvr ...

Didn't the US have a PVRs first? For some reason I'm under the impression that we got tivo before they did... .and now there is that hdtv/sd pvr being released there. We can't be far behind in line, can we? (unless I'm wrong about who had pvr/dvr first).

I'm not sure who had PVR's first. Consider this though...... I first saw HDTV at a CES show over 10 years ago. Took us that long to get it here, but was in full swing an Japan.:(
So...I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the HDTV PVR's here:rolleyes:

Considering how long Japan has had HDTV, HD recorders, and HD laserdiscs, I think that we could be far behind.
