With the talk on the swap file issue I felt my report of success might of value. I used the new Hinsdale Tiger’s Mfs Tools 2.0 FAQ dated Sept 3, 2002. My TiVo is a Philips HDR312-04 (Single Quantum Fireball lct and v3.0 software). I replaced the Quantum with a Maxtor 120GB (5400RPM). I used the "Fast Option", also as per the FAQ I use the “-s 127” switch.

To see if it had the swap file issue, I checked the logs:

Activating swap partition
Adding Swap: 130044k swap-space (priority –1)
