smbfs.o missing?

I was trying to get samba working and I lost (accidentally del) my smbfs.o file. will the smbfs.o file from the smbfs.zip on the xtreme-emu site do the same thing? is it the same exact file? when I copied smbfs.o from the smbfs.zip file to my /lib/modules and did an insmod it gave me the incorrect kernel version error message. I dont know if the original one did that or not. In any event should I be ok? Or do the smbmount on the tivo only work with the smbfs.o on the tivo? or do i need to copy the smbmount file from the zip file over to the tivo to match the .o file that I got from the .zip file? Or are they all the same 2 files? I could re-xtreme the thing and start over but I really dont want to go through that again.

is there a tutorial on getting samba working on the tivo? I cant seem to find one ive been looking for 2 days.
