I got a "sony t60" problem

i want to replace the hard disk for a quantum 40gb (the original) but that no have partition, or not have format, my question ... what file system must have, before mfsrestore function.....

actually..... format: LINUX
MODE: CHS

Error: /dev/hda110 no such file or directory
/dev/hda111 no such file or directory
/dev/hda112 no such file or directory
/dev/hda113 no such file or directory
MFS fucntion failed

You'll need to tell us more about what you did. In particular, how did you mount the drive with the TiVo backup on it?

MFS Tools does not require the disk to be formatted before use - the TiVo drive has a complex, multi-partition layout that MFS Tools creates from scratch.

you should follow the hinsdale faq so you can backup your original drive. then you can use mfstools to write that backup to your new drive. then you can expand the new drive to full capacity (if its larger than the original tivo drive)

That hinsdale FAQ is most excellent and whoever wrote the software did an excellent job as well
