Help -- DTiVo Stuck acquiring satellite data.

I tried again to hack my DTiVo (SAT-T60) so the pesky kernel wouldn't rewrite my rc.sysinit. (I'd tried previously a while with 2.5Xtreme, but gave up... too many problems and was satisfied with just adding 106 hours of recording).
Now after months away from the boards, I find that there is a simple solution using the TurboNet CD. Using the utilities on the CD, I flashed the PROM and disabled initrd with no problems.
I've been able to change my rc.sysinit with no problem. I added support for bash, tivonet, telnet, tivoweb and ftp. These all work without a hitch...
HOWEVER my DTiVo never gets past the "Last Step: Acquiring Information From The Satellite". It even gets to 100% and just sits there. I can watch previously recorded programs on my TiVo and as mentioned above, use the funtionality I've hacked into the unit but I cant watch live TV.
The signal strength, dish setup, etc checks out. The only thing that now appears broken, is dialout. It can't connect at all.
Does "nic_install tivonet" change something in rc.sysinit so that the modem becomes "disabled" and looks instead for an Internet connection?? I'll assume that this may only be a secondary symptom and that the real problem lies somewhere else.
Hopefully someone knows.

I didn't even think about doing this until this afternoon. It seems simple now.
I just went to the system reset menu and deleted the guide data and to do list. After a couple of hours... it's all back. My TiVo get's live TV again *and* had guide data.
(My modem's still fried... but that's another issue)
