DSR6000 upgrade

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

If I have a dual drive Philips DSR6000 and buy a pre blessed B drive (120gb) and add it as the B drive and remove the current B drive how many hours would I expect to yield, and is this possible.

Recap
Have 2 drive DSR6000
want to remove B drive,
and add pre-blessed 120gb B drive

You can expect many hours of staring at a Green Screen of Death and possibly never seeing your TiVo boot again! (Although to answer your exact question, I don't know how many hours it would take...)

You can buy an 'Upgrade A drive' (or presumably a pair of big drives) to replace BOTH your current drives.

A 'blessed' B drive can ONLY be used with an original, unmodified A drive. If the A drive has been upgraded or married to a B drive, adding the blessed drive blows things up spectacularly.

In order to replace an existing B drive with a larger B drive, you will have to use the MFSTool utility. Search for MFSTool or MFSTools in this Underground forum.

I can't do this, even though the drive is pre-blessed.

That's right-- as the two previous poster have said, this is not possible. Your current two drives are married; you can't just remove one of them and drop the other one in without first performing some software modifications. Check out the thread at the top of this forum for instructions on how to perform the upgrade yourself. Alternatively, if you're not comfortable doing it yourself, you can ship it off to one of the upgrade services to have it done for you.

Edit: the 'how-to' post is at the top of the Upgrade Forum, not this one. Forgot where I was! ;)
