I missed "8 Simple Rules..."

Stupid auto-record wishlists! Was it any good, and does anyone know if they are replaying the pilot any time?

Currently watching it and so far i haven't laughed but I am really tough on sitcoms. The editing is horrible, nothing like a disappearing thong, or one that appears...hey it was the part from the preview, I wouldn't have noticed or at least said anything if they hadn't mentioned it first.

You didn't miss anything.

I liked it but, then again, I have had the hots for John Ritter for, um...25 years? :)

It's being repurposed on ABC Family--I think that the pilot is being reaired on Saturday.

Ah so. Thanks Lori!

It was OK. I watched it live while TiVo recorded That 70's Show. On a scale of 1 to 10 I'd give it a 6, good enough to watch again but no big deal if I missed it.

Well I liked it a lot. John Ritter and teenage girls get me. They both scare me! <grin> As John said, thank God for little boys :)

I thought it was really quite entertaining. I really hated The Bonnie Hunt Show (or whatever they're calling it) that premiered afterward...but 8 Simple Rules... was fairly likeable. That '70s Show episode was ALMOST as good as their musical one  . (Pretty bad, in other words.)

Geez, I liked That 70's Show tonight! :)

Really?!? I'm pretty sure they've jumped the shark big-time...we'll have to see! :)

Was it just me, or did it seem that the laugh track was louder than it should have been. I didn't know that shows still even used laugh tracks, but this one seemed very apparent.

I only saw the last half, for the same reason. I love John Ritter, so laughed. What can I say? The guy has great comedic timing and he can make even a stupid sitcom with a trite setup funny. So far, it stays on my SP list. The Bonnie Hunt show though....

I thought it was ok. I enjoy watching John Ritter so I'll give it a chance. While it's not good enough to bump one of my SPs off the list, it was decent enough that I've set up a SP for the Saturday ABC Family showing.

I thought it was pretty funny. The jokes were mostly old and predictable, but they seemed to have good timing and therefore came off pretty good. Katey Sagal is the weak link for me, she just didn't seem to mesh with Ritter very well. I'll be giving it a chance for now.

Yup, I kept expecting her to call out "Al?" nearly every time she was visible...

She'll always be Leela to me.

I wonder what this show will be like once they have to actually have a plot. The pilot was just the most generic stories you could do with that assortment of characters. And does the son even get to have a personality/character in this show?

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the show's "second banana", a comic standout in his own right, Larry Miller, who's probably best known as the Dean in the Nutty Professor movies, but who I always think of as (the voice of) the "Pointy-Haired Boss" in the late, lamented Dilbert cartoon.

He was pretty darn funny...great timing on that guy! And he played pretty well off Ritter, I thought.

Larry Miller was also "The Doorman" in the Seinfeld episode, and not only that, is one of my favorite columnists (warning Pan, he is a conservative ;) )

Let's give them a little time to do character development here. After all it was only half an hour. I also thought 8 Simple Rules was much better than Life with Bonnie even though the latter has some of the better preseason buzz. Again, it's only been a half hour of each.

Yeah, I love Larry Miller. Just saw him again as I watched 10 things I Hate About You for the 50th time.

And I love his writings. Only found them about a month ago. He just cracks me up.

A conservative that has no problem with doing a sex scene with a giant gerbil (Nutty 2: The Klumps)...something interesting about that...!

I did like the line, "my brother from another mother!" Are kids still using that, or is it, like, 5 minutes ago?
