Upgrade Problem. Please HELP
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I'm trying to upgrade my single drive unit by replacing my single 40 Gb with a 120Gb.
I'm using the latest Boot disc & have copied the Mfs Tools 1.1 file to c:\
The problem is that once booted from CD then hitting "enter" the report does not see my original quantum drive which should be hdc. It reports hdc as the CD drive which should be hdd
reads
hda existing dos drive
hdb new maxtor 120
hdc CD drive
no listing for hdd at all.
was expecting
hda existing dos drive
hdb new maxtor 120
hdc TiVo 40GB
hdd CD drive
I went into my bios to change setting from auto to manual but it cannot "see" the original TiVo drive to set a manual setting.
Please help

Did you remember to set the links on the original drive to 'Master'. I think it is set to CS by default.

It looks like the CD is jumpered as Master. Try setting it to Slave.

Yes, but just checked again.
Original drive set to master on Secondary master ribbon

Thanks Robert, from quick inspection I think that may be the problem
Fingers crossed

This need to be put in the upgrade instructions, about the Tivo drives originally being set as CS, and need to be changed to either master or slave.
When I done my upgrade this was something that I overlooked at startup, but quickly discovered it when the orginal drive wasn't found.

Thanks to all who replied, especially Robert who spotted my problem so quickly. (CD was set to secondary master same as original TiVo drive):D
Perhaps this is something that could ba added as a "quick reminder" to the existing FANTASTIC Hinsdale How-to Bible
Thanks to all you guys out there. I couldn't have done it without your expert & quick HELP
