Realy guys I followed directions, did a MSF 2 restore of the image off the abs ftp site (it was made by mfs 1). Everything worked, booted ran ok, Tivo upgraded the software to 3.0.

Figured it was time to do a backup and reinstall telnet & ftp so I could redo Web and when I booted the V3 floppy disk with the drive on secondary slave the partion ID comes up backwards 9214 rather than 1492 (or vice a versa).

I assume that I need to tell Linux that it is not a normal file system (big enia vrs little???) but hoped that maybe somebody who has been there might help out ??

Byteswapping is broken on the MFS Tools 2.0 disks. See the Fixes thread for a magic incantation to make it boot byteswapping. Secondary slave is hdd rather than hdb.
