Okay, I'm happy. Today is the first day in 9 months (I've been checking about once a week since January, and I last checked 4 days ago), that the Best Buy in West Los Angeles (near the 405 Freeway) has ample quantities of TiVo in stock! I counted 67 TiVo's today!! Woo hoo! Does this mean that distribution is improving??

yeah but do they have the 80 hour or are they trying to get rid of the 60 hour? My local best buy has 3 60 hour in stock and no idea if or when they will get the 80 hour, and it has also not shown up on the website yet.

Aha! Good question! They were all 60-hours.

It must be just that Best Buy. I've seen plenty in the Burbank, Porter Ranch, Fullerton, and City of Industry stores....

The West L.A. Best Buy is usually sold out because that's where every single TV and movie writer has gone to buy TiVo. All of them are now furiously writing scripts that center around TiVo, so perhaps it's for the best. :D

Woo Hoo!! When I get a chance I'll check the BB in Montclair and report back.

The Best Buy in Palo Alto (SF Bay Area) had at least 5 60 hr units out on the sales floor the other day selling for $349. They also had a space and tag for the 80 hr units priced at $399.
