with an upgrade on my T60? I know that Hinsdale's how to is very detailed, but to see it on video would make me feel much better about my upgrade. I'm very nervous about opening up my unit and adding a drive. I've installed memory and dvd drives in my cpu in the past, but this just seems a bit more complicated and I don't really want to pay someone almost $100 to do this for me. I know, I want the best of both worlds, but come on...who doesn't?
Thanks for any help...I absolutely love this place and it is now on my list of sites to check every day!

You'll find doing this upgrade very similar to adding your DVD drive. Try to think of TiVo as a PC in a funny case and you'll be fine.
The only really difficult bit is getting the top off (assuming you have the Torx bits available - I used Allen keys to turn mine!) - the bits your actually working on are standard IDE drives.
One of the UK users did a very nice Upgrade Diary showing how he dismantled a UK stand alone. (Just stills, and a slightly different TiVo, but it makes the point - this is not scary stuff!)
I recommend you replace your current drive(s) with the new one, that way if anything goes wrong you can just revert to the originals.
Use MFS Tools 2.0 as described in New Hinsdale.

As Robert said, its dead simple if you've done PC upgrades. (And I started using allen keys, ended up finding torx bits later.)
Pop the 4 screws on the back, slide the case back and lift up (mine didn't take any excessive force, although 2 of the screws did.. ymmv..)
Once the lid is off its very easy to see the 2 screws that hold the drives down (the howto mentions the possibility of a third back by the power supply; mine didn't have one.) Unscrew those (different size torx in my case) and the whole tray lifts up. Pull the fan connector (straight up, its like a PC cpu fan plug) to get the tray started lifting, then pull IDE and power from the drive[s] to completely remove the tray.
If you have 2 drives already (some DTivos do) be sure they are labled. If they aren't, check hte jumpers - Master is A, Slave is B.
Pull the drives off the tray or not, as needed (I had to remove mine due to cable length issues with the machine I ran MFStools on) and do the backup/restore/etc.
When putting them back on just reverse the process; the only hard part is fiddling the cabling around to tuck the tray back in. (I found it easiest to put the tray tabs into the blue grommets up by the fan, attach the cables, fold/tuck them into the faceplate, then push the tray down and screw it in.)
Discounting backups/restorations, the whole process is under 10 minutes and -very- easy. Just be 100% sure to plug the fan connector back in (I'm dumb, the first 3 times I reassembled it I forgot..)
Once its back together "poke it" a while (watch stuff, record stuff, etc) and periodically over the next while (few days) check the sysinfo screen for temp issues or anything else 'odd'..
Which reminds me.. anyone know why the sysinfo screen thinks that 72C is "(normal)"..?? Last I checked, that was NOT normal or ok.. (Its much cooler now that said fan is hooked up again.)
Also, (and these should probably be sep topics. ohwell..) anyone know -where- in the case the temp is measured? I added some fans, and it seems like I'm getting less airflow through the case than before but the temp is down to room temperature. My suspicion is that the fans (hdd coolers) are blowing right over the sensor and the PS may not be getting properly cooled.
