More control over first-run vs. repeats

Hi there,
This is my #1 feature suggestion for TiVo. If this was implemented, it would make my life sooooo much easier! :)
Basically, in a nutshell, I'm requesting that TiVo lets us control what happens to first run episodes DIFFERENTLY than what happens to repeat episodes.
Let me explain:
I've got seasons passes & wishlists set up for 40 of my favorite shows. Amongst these shows are "Sex & The City", "The Simpsons", "King of the Hill", and "Curb Your Enthusiasm". (I've got wishlists set up for the HBO shows, so TiVo can grab them from whichever HBO channel it needs to grab it from.)
All of the shows that I mentioned above have NEW EPISODES that air weekly, but they also have REPEAT EPISODES that air CONSTANTLY & CONTINUOUSLY throughout the week.
Now here's the deal: The NEW EPISODES are vitally important to me, but the repeats are not nearly as important.
So without fail, this is what I want:
I always want the NEW EPISODES to "keep until I delete".
But I only need 3-4 episodes of the "repeat episodes", and they can delete whenever the Keep At Most setting is reached.
So why not make them all "keep until I delete"? Because I have to manually delete the episodes in order to make room on the TiVo.
Why not make them all "keep until i delete" with a "Keep at Most" of 5? Even worse. If I forget to delete an episode, then the NEW EPISODE won't be recorded.
As you can see, the problem here is that TiVo makes us control both repeats & new episodes exactly the same.
This is particularly problematic with The Simpsons, which seems to air every 5 minutes of every channel everywhere. My entire TiVo fills up with Simpsons episodes, but if I do a "keep at most" of 5 episodes, than even the NEW episode gets deleted within a day because there's so many repeat episodes. If I make them "save until I delete", then if I forget to delete one before the next Sunday's episode, then the next new episode won't record. So basically, I'm stuck having TiVo record "all episodes" at "save until space needed"... and my entire TiVo fills up with dozens upon dozens of Simpsons episodes.
Although The Simpsons is the most obvious example of this problem, this is just as problematic for Sex & The City and Curb Your Enthusiasm. I don't NEED 20 episodes of "Sex & The City" in my Now Playing List -- I just need 4 or 5 reruns, plus I need to ENSURE that the new episode is recorded every week.
If TiVo allowed us to INDIVIDUALLY CHOOSE what happens to reruns vs. new episodes, then my life would be a bunch easier!

Set up a high priority manual recording for the airing of the new show, set to SUID.
Set up a seperate Season Pass for the show to capture other reruns, KAM=4, delete when space is needed.
Problem solved.

Thanks for the tip! You can't actually set two seasons passes for the same show, but you CAN set up one seasons pass and one wishlist. (You can also set up TWO wishlists that are exactly identical.) I think this will work -- i'm gonna try it.

I wasn't suggesting two season passes. I was suggesting one manual repeating recording, and one Season Pass.

Oh. Well, it's better to have one seasons pass & one wishlist, in case the time changes, etc. Manual recordings are never preferred when the show is very important to you.

Great! So, um, why is this a suggestion? Looks like you've got it all figured out and TiVo's got you covered.
Also, why do I feel like we're the only people in here?

Thanks to you, I figured out that TiVo's got me covered! I never thought of making TWO entries for the same show.
And yes, this is starting to feel like a private chat room -- I don't think anybody reads these suggestions!
