CSI Last Night - 10/3 Spoilers included

Watched it last night. I enjoyed it, didn't think much about it. Then while walking to the mail box at lunch, something occurred to me. How in the world did Grisom get the 3 images, blood on the sheet, knee injury, and trailer step, to match closely enough in size to be overlaid as he showed on his laptop?
His little show had them all neatly superimpose on top of each other. What's the likelihood of that being possible?
For me, it was one of those, "Hey wait a minute..." moments.
I otherwise enjoyed it.

maybe he just changed the scale of the image to so that the step cut his knee then the cut on his knee left the "fingerprint" on the sheet.
I guess this would not work the Defense could say "hey you made them fit"

Now that you mention it, the blood spot on the bed looked a lot smaller than knee size. The stairs and knee were both knee size.

I didn't think too much about the evidence and was more caught up in the hearing loss plot, which by the way I am disliking severely

yeah I think the hearing loss thing is only going to limit the show cause once he can no longer hear he can't be a csi once he is gone I will stop watching.

Most of the crime shows have been taking a lot of leeway with technology and the pretty presentations. It's interesting how all of the evidence so neatly matches. There's no compression or stretchng of skin. An old wound exactly matches a current healed wound.
We have shows with exact full or nearly full fingerprint matches even when the print comes off of something other than a smooth flat surface. There's a reason that fingerprint analysis involves numbers of coincidental points and the tv guys just put one print exactly and voila! they are identical.
Why is it that they're never even as much as a little smeared?

It was OK; like avaloncourt said, they take a LOT of leeway with technology. First the perfect resizing of the image from a magazine. Then you've also go their constant perfect zooms on security cameras (I don't know who is providing security cameras to the casinos, but they appear to be better than HDTV resolution...
I'm curious how the hearing loss thing will play out; it did seem to weigh heavily in this episode, but I like how it was handled. Grissom was smart enough from the very beginning not to get involved directly in evidence collection (which would have been considered tampering by the defense).

I still love CSI. I'm interested in how the following get resolved:
- when Grissom tells the rest of the crew he's going deaf. I thought at first his former mentor said it loud enough for EVERYONE to hear, but apparently not.
- how the whole Sarah dating a cop will finally end. It's more than boring to hear her say *anything* about the nonexistant cop (this was the first time we saw him, right?) and hearing Greg all jealous is as equally annoying.
- how the Hollywood big-shot gets caught (or off the hook) in later episodes, I'd suppose CSI'ers will be brought back to testify or evidence missing or something.
Wasn't that the Wallflowers in the opening scenes??? I swear it was Jakob Dylan and the band's drummer, while Mr. Hollywood Big Shot is gambling.
And BTW, as anyone who has ever gambled will tell you, you can NEVER hold or shoot the dice with both hands. One or the other. Or you'll be asked to leave. Especially on more than one occasion. But that's just from being a fan of craps, anyone would probably know it.

Wallflowers are all over CBS. I believe they are doing the new theme song to Guardian as well.

Didn't Sara go out with that cop in an episode last year? They were in a diner. Catherine, who was being watched by the bad guys, had to slip an amputated finger (or something like that) to Sara without the baddies knowing.

Isn't the guy a paramedic? Are there two different people? I had thought Sara was seeing the paramedic for quite some time now.

No, you're right, it's a paramedic. My error.
But that date in the diner was with him, right?

Actually, I think Grissom can still be a CSI if he goes totally deaf - and I think that is what they were trying to show on this episode.
He couldn't hear anything the lawyer was saying, even the third time, but he read her lips and answered the question. He "overcame" his disability this time and continued to do his job.
Forshadowing? I think so! :)

Yup. I believe his first episode was the one where the bodybag was found and the victim was basically soup. The "joke" of the episode was how bad Sarah smelled.
