I have a Series1 running 3.0 and I'm about to open it up Saturday night to setup the bash prompt over the serial port. (No ethernet card.) I'm planning to install merge.tcl so I can save to VCR in batches, and also enable serial control of my ATT cable box (I know, using the bash prompt via serial port and serial control of the cable box are mutually exclusive.)

My question is - as long as I'm doing all of this, what other useful features/scripts should I configure now? (I may or may not be upgrading/adding a new drive at this time.)
