Well, pretty much back to "business as usual" for Angel Investigations. The biggest part of the show was probably the introduction of new regular/recurring character "Gwen Raiden" played by Alexa Davalos and my, my, MY! She sure can wear clothes! ;)

The primary point of the show: Find a way to find Cordelia (who isn't supposed to come back for a couple of more episodes yet). And, based on what I've read, when Cordy comes back she

will not remember much of her previous life...including that Angel is a vamp and that she is part demon!

But that's an episode or two away yet, so don't highlight the spoiler if you don't want to know it! :)

So, a mostly workman-like episode...pretty much Connor-free and kind of like a 2nd season "typical" caper-type episode. Not bad, but not overly special either.

I'm hoping that last night's episode was to introduce a new character (Gwen) to REPLACE the insipid Fred. Last night Fred seemed pretty fed up with the whole Angel Investigations routine, so let's hope she's GONE!

Actually, I really like Fred...but Gwen is not there to replace anyone.

I've seen it suggested that she will be part of the season's main arc as a sort of "Catwoman" to Angel's "Batman"...a foe who generates sparks (both literally and figuratively) with the good guy.

And how about that name? "Gwen Raiden" ... that has GOT to be a "Mortal Kombat" reference, doesn't it?

Gwen and Angel do make an interesting couple...she can make his heart beat, and he can touch her without frying. And with Cordy around, we don't have to worry about moments of perfect bliss, because he'll always feel guilty!

Actually, Raiden was the God of Thunder and Lightning from Japanese mythology. I think Mortal Kombat and Angel both stole from the same source. Most people who've played Mortal Kombat, however, will only associate it with the game.

Didn't I read something here about the perfect bliss thing happening as part of the main season arc? I hope they come up with an original way to take it away this time. The sleep with the vampire/slayer has been done. Yes, I know it wasn't the act of sleep with the vampire/slayer but the emotions involved but maybe they could do something like a soul stealing demon or WR&H client or something. What is with Wesley and Lilah? Disgusting...

I am one that doesn't watch Angel regularly, but like to try and keep up. Just don't have time for it right now.

well, it was tried in Season 3 of Buffy, Enemies

Interesting episode of Angel but not great.....

Super-Hottie has electrical powers, and apparently when she gets, um, excited, she zaps. But when she zaps Angel, it acts like those medical paddles. So, from her perspective, she can touch a guy with lust in her heart and not have to worry about scraping him off the walls, and from his perspective, she's the first girl in over 200 years who gets his heart pounding. And since his heart belongs to another (figuratively speaking), that means they could have, well, safe sex, since he'd feel guilty enough to be less than totally blissed out. For her part, she must still be a virgin, since no boy would have survived the preliminaries...

Boy, it just struck me, this is a really weird conversation... :D

right but Faith and the Mayor didn't know that and if the Demon hadn't been a friend of Giles, it might have worked....
