Tivo Seen On Friends
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Not sure if this has been brought up or not, but while watching friends last night (or, rather, last nights episode of friends) I noticed that there appears to be an SVR-2000 to the left of Monica and Chandler's TV. You can see it when they watch the video.
Not sure if it's been covered before or if anyone even cares. Just an observation.

That show is still on?
Surprised it has lasted this long..I stopped watching it when I was still in college, stopped being funny.

The recorders, dolls, and stickers have been in the episodes for the last couple seasons. There are a few dozen old threads about it.

And this season, they've added a new matching Sony tv to the set. :)

Since Friends has the highest ad fee per minute, I wonder how much TiVo are paying for product placement ?

And Monica also used the Sony TiVo remote to play the shark video. Must have been the only remote they had on the set, but it definitely was not a VCR remote.

I noticed that, too. I pointed it out to my fiancee, who promptly rolled her eyes. I think I may be moving from geekiness to dorkism.

If tivo were paying for product placement, they would have watched the shark video on tivo, preferably through a wishlist. Not a video tape.
That looked to me like the sony tivo remote also. Somewhere tivopony is shuddering in horror (he likes the peanut rather than the sony remote).

There was a TiVo mentioned on last week's Law & Order SVU.

It certainly looked like the Toshiba... I've got the same TV in my bedroom. Even my wife said "hey, that's our TV".

Ummm, yeah, I think you're right. I thought at first glance that it was the new 24" Sony. But, looking at it again, it does seem to be the Toshiba.
I assumed that since it was the Sony TeeBoo, they just threw in a tv as well.
But, I guess I was wr, wro, wro, wrong. :)

Last season Rachel mentioned that she ogt a Tivo. It was the episdoe when she told her dad that she was pregnant. He asked her what was new and she replied with, "Well I got a Tivo."

There was an episode of Dawson's Creek a while back where Dawson was flipping through the Tivo menu for about 20 seconds at his house. Nice plug! he he

I would think a geek is worse than a dork

I completely missed the wrong remote when I watched it... I saw the Tivo and thought how cool, but the remote... I'm usually really good about that kind of thing. I wish I still had it recorded so I could check it out for myself.
Oh, and on the geek vs dork question... dork is the worser of the two. However, "geek" has become more and more fashionable in our ever evolving digital world... or that's what I tell myself.
