Hi I have read several FAQs and now I am very confused. I want to take out my original Tivo Drive Back it up and put it away in my Closet for a rainy day. I'm a Tivo life time subscriber and don't want to lose that. Its my understanding from the FAQs that that wont happen. Because I subscribe to tivo My Tivo has the latest software on it. FAQs do not say if I can backup my drive. Also MFS Tools 2.0 is this what I need to back up the original Drive? I understand that bless tivo will marry 2 drives together into 1. but dos MFS Tools write back my Tivo's original Image to my 80 gig Maxor Drive?

MFS Tools can do a transfer of your current drive to a new onw. Read the hinsdale guide on upgrading to a new A drive.

Don't worry about the subscription. The information used to authenticate your system is not stored on the hard drive.
