DTivo won't download 2.5

I have two Hughes Dtivo's that I recently reimmaged with Phillips DSR6000 Image. Both connect and work great except for the fact they are not downloading/updating to the 2.5 release. They have been working for the past week and I have forced many daily calls but nothing. Has anyone had this issue? Or do I need to go back and put a hughes image on them?
Thanks.
P.S. I have connections to both Sat1 and Sat2 connected. I want my dual tuners back...

That's easy. You've become a MORON Type 2 by putting a Philips image on a Hughes. You're SOL now - until you restore the hughes image.

Not so, Grasshopper. Your link describes loading a Philips image on a Sony DTivo (which will also work BTW but you'll need a Philips/Hughes remote to operate it). The Hughes and Philips images are IDENTICAL with the exception of the logo that pops up right after the "Almost there. Just a few more minutes..." screen. Loading a Philips image on a Hughes DTivo shouldn't make a damn bit of difference. In fact, the innards of every series 1 DTivo were all made on the same assembly line at a plant in Mexico. Aside from the differences in the remote codes between the Hughes/Philips and Sony units, the only other differences are the front panels. The Hughes/Philips panels are directly interchangeable whereas the IR receiver/indicator board on the Sony is a different layout. They all connect to the mainboard using the same ribbon cable so it's possible they are also interchangeable. The mainboard and power supply are the same on all units.

Actually even the Sony and Philips hardware is identical. The problem isn't that the TiVo won't run (you'll notice that we don't call people who can't get their TiVo's to boot Morons), but that they don't upgrade to the new version. Read Worf's link for more details.
This is a VERY serious problem and those TiVo's need to be unplugged from the phone right away or he may lose his TiVo service. He should be able to get a Hughes image and put the right software back on them without too much difficulty.

captain_video,
Worf is absolutely correct.
The TiVo service numbers and software versions have vendor-specific prefixes and suffixes.
For example, the latest version for a Hughes DTiVo is 2.5.2-01-1-031 and the latest version for a Philips DTiVo is 2.5.2.01-1-001. When the unit calls into TiVo, you have a problem when a Hughes service number reports an unknown software version (Philips) and keeps trying to upgrade the software (unsuccessfully).
You could quite possibly have your service cut off from TiVo, so I would unplug the TiVo's phone line ASAP and try to get your hands on a Hughes image.

Sorry. I forgot that most of you guys run your DTivos with the phone lines plugged in. I did that once and ended up with the obnoxious Starz on Demand feature (a complete waste of good technology). I have since restored my image back to 2.5.01 and unplugged my phone. As I said, it makes no difference what image you use (if you do it this way). In case you're wondering, I DO pay for Tivo service and DTV. I just don't want them upgrading my software without my say so. If the Starz on Demand feature is the best they can come up with, I'll pass on future updates.

BTW, if you ever do put a Sony image on a Philips TiVo, you'll need the Sony remote to use it (one of the few reasons I've hard for wanting to switch images). Alas, that doesn't work well with TiVo.
As for the link, I can't find a better version of it... ye olde ancient TiVo FAQ still has a few gold nuggets yet.
