Just looked at my system information and discovered all these icebox files marked
SwSystem/3.2V4-01-2/ and various names following. Do you suppose they are getting ready to update my software on my SVR-2000 Sony SA? Received service data download this morning at 4:36 but nothing that indicates pending restart or anything of that nature.

Series 1 TiVos are not getting version 3.2. It is only for Series 2 TiVos. It appears that TiVo is testing sending software updates through the Service Data Download, since that's what icebox files are. However, the software won't install unless your TiVo is told to do so, which as I said, Series 1 TiVos won't be.

received service data download this morning and the 3.2 icebox files have disappeared from my system info screen as was expected. don't want an upgrade, like things like they are, everything is working well like it has for the last 2 years.

Is backdoors still enabled? ;)

It sounds like you know those files show only with Backdoors 0n... Right?

It depends if you have a backdoor on your icebox, eh? ;)

this mornings update the files are named 3.2.v5-01-2, looks like another update for the series 2 boxes is in the works. yes the way to see these file names is with backdoors activated.

this mornings service data update included icebox files 3.2-01-2/ files, wondering if series 1 SA boxes might be getting something this time. sorry just curious. can't help but wonder since these numbers are more in line with my present software version.
