Failure rate

Does anyone know the failure rate of Tivo Series 2 and Series 1? I just got my new Tivo Series 2. Currently wondering whether to wait a couple of days before warranty expires before upgrading hard drive or at least backing up Drive A image.

What do you guys think?

I'd wait the couple of days because, well, your TiVo could still die for whatever reason in those couple of days :).

Might as well just wait for the warranty to expire before voiding it - it's only a couple of days.

I was just wondering whether the 90 day warranty meant Tivo has high confidence in their machine's reliability. Sony is the only manufacturer that I know of that offers 90 day warranty.

BTW, just want to thank everyone that helped me out up till now. Got my Tivo series 2 last week and I already got it hooked up to broadband through my new router. I currently have about 40 Season Passes. It sure is slow waiting for season passes to update though. Other than that I love NOT missing important shows. No more surfing :-)
