Need rc.sysinit for DSR6000

I fubbed up while trying to get my Turbonet working. I made some changes to the rc.sysinit file and after rebooting I've lost the bash prompt in my serial connection. I know I should have made a backup first, but I'm stupid :(

If it is not against the rules can I request a copy of a normal rc.sysinit for my DSR6000 thats been 2.5xtremed? I will have to remove the hard drive and put it in my pc then mount the drive to reinstall the correct file. I could just edit the existing file, but thot a good working copy might be the best thing. I've looked all over for a copy and the ones I've found have been modified for various reasons.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Tom

You should already have a backup of your rc.sysinit file resident in the /etc/rc.d directory. Check my post in this thread for instructions on restoring it.

Cap'n,

Here's how it worked for me:

mkdir /4
mkdir /7
mount /dev/hdc4 /4
mount /dev/hdc7 /7
cd /4/etc/rc.d
cp /4/etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit.bak rc.sysinit

After changing directories to /4/etc/rc.d I had to add the /4 to the cp command line otherwise it reported no such file. But actually I just edited the bad rc.sysinit file with the correct line that I left out and reinstalled into the Tivo and it booted with a bash prompt. I'm back in business!!:D

Now I can get back to trying to get my Turbonet card to talk to my laptop??

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Tom
