Hey guys,

I've replaced my 30gb drive with a 120gb. I still have the 30gb drive in my closet.

my question is...if i ever want to go back to it, can i just throw it into my unit even if the new drive been getting all the updates?

Yep, the old drive would get updated when TiVo calls home.

You should be able to use MFS Tools to copy your current drive (system software and user data, but not recordings) back to the old drive.

Have you seen the way drive prices are dropping? You might want to take an MFS Tools backup of one of your drives and put the original drive in a PC an make some use of it while it still has some value :)

Give your new drive a month or so, but after that the advantages of keeping a drive on the shelf are limited.
