Crashed GXCEBOT Questions galore
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

hughes GXCEBOT crashed last night, checked all the usual suspects... Cables, cables powersupply etc.
Out of warranty and voided by additional drive over a year ago...
Its a 40GB plus 100GB setup...
How to proceed? I guess I will get an image for a GXCEBOT and load that onto a new 40gb master...
Will that work, or do I drop my additional drive, rebuild the master, and then remarry the additional?
Could I upsize the master?
Could I just load the image onto the 100GB maxtor I already have and go single drive...
Will it recognize the 100 GB drive as the master...
Thanks in advance for any assistance in this matter...
Steve

You could be a bit more verbose about the symptoms you're seeing? 'Crashed' is too terse.
Assuming it is a disk failure, the priority is to find out which disk has failed. Start with PowerMax, although that doesn't always catch problems.
If PowerMax doesn't tell you which drive has failed you will have to put an A drive image on both drives and see how they run on their own.
You can try to take a backup off the current drive set, but if the TiVo is unbootable the chances of that working are slim.
We use the terms 'A' and 'B' drives to refer to the two drives in a TiVo. The A drive will be jumpered as master and the B drive slave in the TiVo, but you might need to change that when the drives are in the PC.
To make the 100Gb B drive into an A drive you need to restore a backup to it and jumper it as master.
