24 Need Season 1 Info

Hi there, I am new to 24 and thought it was great.

Can someone give me a quick run down on returning characters and where they are coming from ,quirks etc.

I understand Jack (about his wife etc.), Kim, Nina. I would like to know about Tony, George, the President and any other key returners.

OK.

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Tony -- was seeing Nina during Season 1 and it looked like he might be the mole at one point. Helped Jack at the end of the season. He's kind of right below George in terms of rank.

George Mason -- came in to take over after Jack went AWOL at one point in Season 1. By the book, little common sense. He stole some money seized in an investigation (revealed by Jack last year in Episode one, after Jack shot him with a tranq dart). George lied to Jack about the status of his family several times last year, so their relationship isn't a great one. Looked like he might be the mole at one point.

President Palmer -- "damn the rules, I'm going to do it my way!" Revealed to the press that his son killed his sister's (Palmer's daughter) rapist. Divorced his shrew of a wife, who is apparently coming back again. His advisor's tend to work for the "special interest groups" that paid for his campaign so he's never getting good advice it seems.

I don't know if we've seen any other characters yet from last season aside from the few you've mentioned.

Kim (Jack Bauer's daughter) is returning for another season. Last season she was pretty much the dumbest person on the show in terms of decision making. Although, I will admit, towards to the last few hours she did seem to gain a great deal of intelligence in her actions. Won't give away her position in episode one for season two.

The former Mrs. Palmer (the President's ex-wife): All around slimball of a person. Would give Hillary a run for her money ( :) ). Tried to set her husband up in an adulterous relationship so she could use that knowledge to control his decision making.

On a side note, Michele Forbes (Ensign Ro from ST:TNG) is a new character this season. I really enjoyed Ensign Ro and was upset they didn't give her character more attention.

Just my 2 cps.

She was also an ME (and Mikey Kellerman's love interest) on Homicide for a few seasons.

From what I've read Ensign Ro was supposed to be on DS9, but, IIRC, Michele Forbes wasn't interested so they created a new character - Kira Nerys.

It was a long time ago, but I believe Forbes was offered the Kira Nerys role on ST: DS9, but declined.

Kim Baeur(don't know real name) was in Maxim recently. Damn!!! Is she hot!!! I noticed I was looking at her in a whole new light Tuesday. Of course, her running around in her underwear during her first scene helped too. :)

Season 1 was really good and I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it to buy (or rent or borrow) the DVDs. Surprising that the season was released on DVD as fast at it was!

We didn't see in Day 2, Hour 1: Palmer's campaign manager. Usually the manager of the winning campaign stays in the inner circle when the candidate is in office.

I believe I read back in May or June in TV Guide when they were doing an interview with the actress who played Nina that her character would show up again in maybe episode five or six of this season. She didn't indicate in what capacity though.

Also I think the article indicated that she is married to the fella that plays George Mason. I was kind of surprised by them being a couple. Isn't been awhile since I read the aritcle though so don't take it as the gospel truth.

Acording to IMDB it looks like they just recently married in September of this year.

I'm sure they wanted to use the two (First season package & Season 2 premiere) to help promote each other.

I've got the DVD package and it's a little lame. Don't get me wrong, the show itself is GREAT. It's just that I expected more behind the scenes and extended footage. All we get is the altenate ending.

Oh, and here's a weird thing... Keifer does an intro to the first season... on the last disk!?! Wouldn't it make more sense to put it on the FIRST disk?
