Is anyone who has upgraded willing to part with original T60 drive?

I had two SAT-T60's, but one had a dead modem. In the process of swapping the drives so that I could make the monthly call before my service was shut off, I fried the hard drive. I've never really wanted to upgrade (I have no drive images and I'm a Mac user anyway) so I was hoping maybe someone here who has upgraded their T60 would want to part with their original 40GB hard drive (including the software) to save a suffering TiVo user. The other box is my mother's, so I have no TV currently. I hope this isn't taboo. If so, I apologize, but I figured this was my cheapest alternative. Thanks.

Ben

You may be able to get a replacement drive from Maxtor (I'm assuming it was a Quantum lct20 40GB drive in your SAT-T60) if it's still under warranty. I've fried two of them and got replacements each time with no hassle. You may not want to tell them it's from a Tivo but I didn't have a problem with the CSR when I did. You can download a T60 image from the web. PM me if you need a download link.

He would still have to load the image onto the new drive and with a Mac that's going to a problem.

The easiest alternative is to get an "plug and play" upgrade drive from either 9th Tee or from Hinsdale. They sell drives intended to simply replace current "A" drives and you wouldn't need to copy over an image or do anything other than plug in the new drive.

if you have os 10.X you can do it with minimal work :D the only problem is going to get the drive bitswaped . or you might be able to find some one near you that would be willing to load the os on the drive for you.

I have an original T60 drive I'm willing to part with.

I could probably be coerced into loading my pre-upgrade image to it for you.

PM me or e-mail me if you want to work something out.
