I posted this to another forum, they suggested you guys might be able to help. My Sony TIVO finally refused to reboot after weeks of can't boot kernal messages every morning.
Is it the hard drive? if so, anyone know how I can fix it without sending it in?

Read the Hinsdale How-to from the top post in this Forum (use New Hinsdale). I would be pretty confident that this is a hard drive issue. You can try backing up your own drive, but I think you'll need to download an image (should've moved before the TiVo became unbootable!) from the Net.

Buy a new drive and use Hinsdale's procedure to restore the backup to the new drive.

Not terribly difficult. Helps if you know which end of a hard drive is which, but Hinsdale spells out what to do.
