<<<< ALERT: SPOILERS AHEAD!! >>>>
==================================================
Well, NBC does it again. Apparently they can't keep time and made their "supersize" Friends a little too super-sized tonight. I got cut off at the end where Ross was firing the weird male nanny. What happened at the very end??

Freddie Prinze, Jr. got Ross to admit he was uncomfortable because of the way Jack raised him (i.e.: yelling at him for playing with Toy Dinosaurs instead of going outside). The tag showed Joey and FP playing with the puppets (FP:" What kind of boat will never sink?" Joey: [look confused] FP: "A Friend-ship." Joey: "How much do I owe you?" FP: "Twenty." Joey: "The cheapest college EVER!")

Friends ran over by SIX minutes, according to my magic green bar.
I hate NBC.

Geez...I can't believe NBC...FIRST - they make me watch "Scrubs" live because TiVo's bust recording "CSI", and I have no VHS tapes (I never use it!), then, I miss the end of "Friends" because of bad timing:rolleyes:....thanks, NBC!
And thanks edc!;)

I'm not a Friends watcher but my wife is. It's a good thing that we record just about everything on Thurs Night NBC. With all of the whacky time changes their starts and stops weren't right for anything. It's very frustrating.

Padded by 2 minutes and still missed the end.
At least CSI was on time tonite. :)

Yep, I luckily started watching the show with the intent of catching up so I could watch Will and Grace live and allow Tivo to catch CSI.
It was really bad tonight.

I thought TiVo had gone crazy changing the channel in the middle of a show until I saw what time it was.
I didn't have a clue about these "super-sized" episodes. Other than the fact that NBC screwed up, TiVo is great as it takes care of all of this for me.
Now, how about some people at TiVo asserting our financial muscle for the money we pay you for the guide service and yell at them and get them to yell at NBC and get the data straightened out!

This show is on probation as is. Another stunt like this and it gets the axe.

I use a 5-minute pad after I got burned a couple of times on the 2-minute pad. Turns out this one went beyond even the 5-minute pad. I never saw any of the closing credits. It was still in commercials when my 5-minute pad ended. :(
NBC-4 out of LA also had a big glitch early on, too. During the opening scene with Phoebe and her boyfriend in the coffee shop. Right after she moved his hand to that other/better place, they suddenly jumped to the East Coast feed or something, because we got a second of Conan O'Brian pointing off to his right, then some black, then some more Conan, then a long black period, then some "KNBC BURBANK" colorbars, and then finally back to Friends. Probably lost about a minute total. Went from hand-on-**** to just-before-digging-in-pocket.

SIX MINUTES!!?? What the heck is wrong with the morons at NBC?? I didn't realize I missed that much. Normally I would have gotten it because I record Scrubs too, but since Will & Grace was on afterwards and I don't watch that show, I got screwed! Grrrr.....
Does NBC have an e-mail address we can complain to??

At least NBC has been better about "owning up" to their scheduling tricks. (They stated a few weeks ago that Friends would routinely run 2 minutes over for most of the season.) And they widely publicize the "super size" episodes at least a week before they run.
I'm not saying the overrun last night doesn't suck, it does; but it looks like the best "technique" right now for supersized episodes is supersized padding. Or just a 2 hour manual record, if you're going to watch all the shows on NBC anyway.

Better Idea is as long as they're doing this crap, don't watch anything on their station...maybe lower ratings will Open there collective Eyes...

They've had Friends scheduled for 32 minutes for awhile. But they still usually went slightly over that. But going 6 minutes over the 40 minute length is ridiculous.....

Yah, but unfortunately it only matters what a few thousand people watch, not the other 100 million.
You could boycott the advertisers, but well, who are they?
Even though i caught the end from the buffer, the worst thing is i was thinking that my scrubs pass would catch it, but of course they threw Will & Grace in the middle.
I remember a few years ago when x-files was hot, and the practice was just starting out, this was pre-tivo, i could have sworn the practice started about 3 seconds after x-files ended every single week. And they were on different stations. ABC was trying to catch the coattails of station flippers after x-files.
How things have changed.

I figured I missed about 4 minutes with my 2 minute end pad. Is the above all that happened?

I am going to send an email to the NBC affiliate for them to pass along to the head honchos. What a bungled mess Thursday night was. I missed ER until the last 10 minutes when I noticed the time on the clock and looked at my Tivo and saw that the little red light was NOT on.
I think those people need a wet noodle lashing. =)
