my system info has a new message (or I haven't noticed before, [ DEBUG:SS err: ] am wondering if this is anything to be concerned with. upgraded to 88 hours 3 months ago and am wondering if this indicates a hard drive problem. had no problems with the original drive just wanted more capacity.

Doesn't look like a hard drive related error to me.
Is it just some debugging code left in by the developers?

[DEBUG:SS err: 0x1F0008 ] i am positive that it hasn't been there before. the normal debug, been there all the time are as usual. unit seems to be operating normally, I am probably just paranoid. thanks for the quick reply.

I just upgraded our S2 60 hour by adding an 80 gig drive and see the exact same error. So far everything seems OK, but it's only been a few hours.
I checked the logs and also found this: cleanup recording: can't cleanup recording hammer cancelled error
*shrug* We'll see how it goes over the next few days.

Just noticed the same message has shown up on my information screen today too.
I have a HDR112 and I've made no recent changes. The message wasn't there a week ago.
"Debug: SS err: 0x1F0008"
Did the Tivo programmers get bored and implement a new value, or is this something to be concerned about ... The mystery continues

I have the same status message on both TiVos. I noticed it Saturday or Sunday.
The TiVos are unhacked.
I'm curious what it means, but I'm not concerned that there is a problem.

My 60hr SA rebooted itself exactly at noon on Sunday, and it had (and still has) the same message in SysInfo when it came back up. I also note that my Icebox, which had been full of v3.2 files, doesn't have them any more. I'm still on v3.0. I wonder if "the 3.2 switch was thrown" ... and it didn't work?
If you weren't watching at noon yesterday, you might want to check "uptime" to see if you had a reboot...

mine didn't reboot, but the icebox 3.2 files did go away in this mornings service update.

OK, that's probably when my 3.2 files went away then, too. (I didn't notice they were gone yesterday, and I did get the Monday update this morning.)
I'm pretty certain the error msg that several of us now have showed up (in my case) right after the reboot ... but perhaps there's not a pattern here after all. Curious. I wonder how widespread this is?

Monday, 5PM EST - I've still got the message on my Tivo.
71 day uptime, so there's been no reboots.

Is there ANYONE with backdoors enabled who does not see the message (DEBUG: SS Err: ) on their System Information screen?
(I'm guessing "no").
