HELLO . CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT IS THE DIFFERANCE BETWEEN A U.K MODEL 6020 AND A 6023 TIVO. I HAVE THE CHOICE OF EITHER ONE. WITCH SHOULD I GO FOR. ANY HELP PLEASE.

There is no difference, exept that the 6020 may have the nicam fault, and most likely to have twin drives.

The nicam fault will be fixed for free by CS. The twin drives can be a good thing if you wish to upgrade in the future, as you will be able to add two new bigger drives in the future as the bracket is supplied.

The 60XX number is only part of the service number, and indicates the time in the time period in the manufacturing run. The only model available in the UK is the PVR10UK.

BTW, please turn of the caps lock.

Thanks for your help .Is the nicam bug a hardware problem or software based.

the nican bug was only there (hardware) if you had to use a RF feed if you used a scart feed it was never there. unless you have to use an aerial feed its never been a problem.

The Nicam bug is a resistor on the main board, that can easily be replaced. The Nicam bug is only a problem if you use your tivo with terrestrial analogue vai the internal RF tuner. Not all the old tivos were affected, and not all locations. The only way to tellis to listen to it in use, you will hear a poping sound if you have the fault.

There are two ways out of this, 1st is to call cs and get it fixed, or 2nd and best option would be to get a DTT box and use this with your tivo, unless you already have sky/cable.

All inputs to tivo via the scart connection are not affected.

Mine says 6022 so what does that mean?

Same thing - its just a number - not a model.....

People seem to think the 60xx bit refers to the model. It is actually part of the service number, but it does refelect the manufacture date. A 601E is older than a 601F, and so on (Hexadecimal) numbering. The largest nimber AFAIK is a 6024, but could be wrong.

The only model available in the uk is the PVR10UK, and is the one everyone has.
