Work-around for the no sound problem

Hi folks,

I was going to try to develop a work around for the horrible no-sound problem (see http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...&threadid=40681) and I was wondering if anyone has tried this approach before. I was thinking of creating a small monitoring process which basically checks that audio is coming through and the Tivo blue screen isn't being shown. If either of these cases are true for a certain amount of time the process would first try changing the channel. If that didn't fix things it would reboot Tivo.

Has this been done before? If so, can someone post some links to where I might it. If not, I'd appreciate any pointers people might have. I'm going to start looking at the TivoWeb code which seems to know about system status.

Thanks a lot,

Russ
