Andromeda vs. Earth Final Conflict

Which sci-fi show is worse between the two? I am having a hard time deciding since they are both so horrible.

This is like trying to decide which smells worse, puke or poo. Since Andromeda is still in production, thus still soft and steaming, I'd have to say it's worse.

Andromeda always has been, and always will be, unspeakably bad. So there's no problem there. But, the frustrating thing about Earth: Final Conflict is that I loved the first season. With each succeeding season, though, it got worse and worse. What it finally morphed into is inconceivably bad. There have been several shows like that. For instance, "Chef" (on BBCA), during its first season, was probably the best show I've ever seen. But, when they started (I believe) its third season, it was unwatchable. They'd totally gutted the meaning of the show and stomped on the entrails. Perhaps networks should be required to include the season number in the episode name: "Earth: Final Conflict -- Season 1." That way, we could assign meaningful ratings.

True, E:FC got worse each season; my guess is that ol' Gene never pursued the story beyond the premise, so the show's writers never knew where to go with it. But the really awful thing was that when they came to what should have been the end of the story, they decided to keep making more episodes with a completely different direction. Yeah, the great Taelon scholar who so loved humans set up the whole merging/rejuvenation chamber thing, so he could unite the warring halves of his race and ...create evil soul-sucking vampires with glowing fingertips!? Come on, let it go already!

BTW, I sort of liked Andromeda before they fired their only good writer (who also was also one of the original creators). It always had cheesy bits, but then it always had those dumb-ifying forces at work. If the show had been executed following that writer's vision (his name escapes me), it would have really been something.

Well, I don't watch Andromeda, so I can't really vote, but I do know that that show never really had any potential to start with (from the few opening eps I saw). E:FC, on the other hand, possibly had the most potential of any Sci-Fi show I've ever seen (except for perhaps B5) for a multi-layered story arc. Then it just started a quick and painful trip down the crapper after season 1.

I've been watching Andromeda since season 1. I never really got into Earth: Final Conflict. Andromeda has been so stupefyingly bad this season that I'm giving it one more try. If it still sucks, it's gone.

I tried to watch both, but found myself thinking of something a buddy of mine used to say. "One s*cks and the other one bl*ws. I don't know which is worse, but there's a h*lluva pressure differential involved!"

I liked E:FC through the first three season but it definately ran out of gas in the fourth season and the fifth season was just plain lame.
Andromeda always had good potential but since Robert Hewitt Wolfe left, it started sliding downhill and really jumped off the cliff this season with several horrible episodes, especially the season premiere. It's totally degenerated and pretty much is a steaming pile. Thank you Kevin Sorbo, now Andromeda will never reach it's potential.
Oh yes, Andromeda now has the worst openining narration....

E:FC was better than Andromeda in the beginning, but then it got worse than Andromeda when they got rid of the Taelons. I think Andromeda is pretty decent, it's just not very "deep".

Never got into Earth Final Conflict, but something has gone horribly, horribly wrong with Andromeda

I have watched every single episode of EFC. Andromeda for all of it's poor writing, has never even come close to being as bad as the final season of EFC. There is still time though...

There's something definitely wrong with the education system in this country. [sigh]

E:FC was a lot better before they got rid of the original aliens and brought in the Morthren.

Oh, sorry. Wrong show.
