will a backup image made with 1.0 work with 2.0 tools?

A forum member was great in directing me to a site where i was able to download a hd112 3.0 backup image, so I could use that to format my 120g drive.
The image was made using mfs tools 1.0. Can I use my mfs 2.0 CD to restore that image, or need i make a 1.0 CD?
Thanks!

I discovered i can use the 1.0 image fine for backup image. BUT...
right now it's in a subdirectory on my XP drive. Should I move it (in XP boot) to root of my C (XP) drive or?
What command would i use at that point - the same one in hinsdale
mfsrestore -s 127 zzpi /mnt/dos/tivo.bak /dev/hdb
or do i have to do some type of mkdir and mnt, and is this before or after I copy the backup image to my C drive in XP?

The mkdir & mount command places your Windows C: drive so that C:\ is equivalent to /mnt/dos. So if your TiVo backup is saved as c:\tivostuff\mytivobackup.mfs, your restore command would be:
mfsrestore -s 127 -xpi /mnt/dos/tivostuff/mytivobackuk.mfs /dev/hdc
Hinsdale assumes your TiVo backup is saved as c:\tivo.bak, but MFS Tools doesn't care what the image is called.

thanks!
So BEFORE i restore do i need to type
mkdir /mnt/dos
mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/dos
or is that not necessary, since i already have the backup image?

That's right, those commands make the connection between Linux and the Windows directories.
Ideally you should do
umount /mnt/dos
before you reboot.
