Using old 40g hard drive

Is it ok to use my old Tivo 40g drive in my PC if I have a fully functional backup burned to cd. I have had my SAT-T60 120 g upgrade running flawlessly for about 1-2 months. Thanks.

I'm sure after you reformat the disk it will be fine. I had a 15 GB DishPlayer disk that I put in my computer.

Don't see why not. Even if your current 120GB drive dies on you, you're unlikely to want to restore to the 40GB drive, unless you will need for some reason to send your T60 back for service. You'll want to be able to restore your backup to the 40GB drive and install it back into the T60 before you send it back.

My suggestion is to use the 40GB drive as a second drive (for MP3s or video files or some such) instead of as a boot drive. Unless your current boot drive is something awfully small like 4.3GB.
