Downgrading from series 2

I am thinking about switching to an older series 1 but I would like to save my recordings from my current series 2. Does anybody know if it would be possible to use MFS tools to copy all my video from a series 1 to a series 2.
Thanks
Todd

No.

But would it not be possible to backup the Tivo series 1 system. Then do a copy from the Series 2 drive to the Series 1 drive. This would copy the series 2 system and video to the drive. Then restore the series 1 system, thus the drive would have the video and correct software.
Just a thought, has anybody tried this. Or maybe tried it the other direction?

I don't know of anyone who's tried it, but the chances of success seem very slim, particularly if the s2 is running 3.2 and the s1 3.0.
However, if one were to try it, heres what I think you'd do:
Get a drive the same size as the S2's A drive and restore a S1 backup to it to make it a bootable S1 A drive.
Then use pdisk to change the partition table to match that of the S2.
Then connect the S2's A drive to primary master and the S1's new A drive to secondary master and boot Dylan or Kazymyr.
Because these disks swap secondary master but not primary master you should be able to see the partitions on both TiVo drives.
You can now use dd to transfer the data, byteswapping it as it goes:
dd if=/dev/hda10 of=/dev/hdc10 bs=32k
and so on for all the partitions > 10.
