MFS tools 1 Boot CD Worked, MFS2, not

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I burned both of the versions of MFS tools 2 that I found, the regular version and the version with the J designation. When neither wood boot my PC, I doug out my older CD for MFS 1 and it booted fine. I had no errors when burning the two new CD images. Can anyone make a good guess about why I can not get a good bootable MFS 2 CD?

I don't know why it wouldn't boot. Most people seem to be finding the noJ version works.

You can run MFS Tools 2.0 from the MFS Tools 1 boot disk.

Just copy the mfstool binary to c:\mfstool and then, once you've used mount to connect to your C: drive you can do

/mnt/dos/mfstool backup ...

or

/mnt/dos/mfstool restore ...

etc.

Thanks for the replu Robert. I burned both the new versions of MFS just like I burned the older version which works. It is a mystery for me as well. I might have gotten a bad download of MFS 2.0 , and you direct me to the best site to download these from, I will give both of the 2.0 version another try, then go to the floppy, if the CD's still do not work for me.
