Welcome. Powering up...

Tivo newbie that doesn't own a desktop but I purchased a tivo II 60 hour (western digital) and a Maxtor 120 gig HD. I attempted to install the HD following the Hinsdale How to but was unable to ever get the maxtor drive to register as more then 10 meg (spent 2 days at a trusting friends apartment screwing around with qunlock).
So I took the Tivo, drive, CD with the ISO Image, print out of the "how to" and 50$ to my local computer store and asked if they would do it. they did - but now the tivo won't go past the, "welcome. Powering up..." screen. I reconfigured the drive jumpers and cables to the original configuration but the same thing still occurs.
Finally....my question.
Today is Sat. They are closed tomorrow (i'm going to miss the sopranos) - but on monday when I bring it back to them I'm looking for something to tell them to try to fix it (they said it looked fine on the computer). I would like to have my recordings but don't care all that much.
Thanks

I love the way people say 'I followed Hinsdale' as if it'll be obvious to everyone which of the 10 /million/ procedures in that document was being attempted.
Were you trying to replace the A drive or add the new one as a B drive?

Sorry - I kept the A drive and was trying to add a b drive. The a was the original 60 gig western digital, the B drive was the new 120 gig maxtor.
