Anyone here enjoying "Hack"?

As dramas go, this one has been growing on me - in more than one way. As I live in the Philadelphia area, I started at episode 1. I felt iffy about it for the first few episodes, but the program showed marked improvement, with the Thanksgiving episode especially outstanding.
All of a sudden, I'm now more involved with the program than ever. I am now doing the telecine for the show. It's an amazing amount of work. As we transfer the film, we're logging the takes and generating information for the editors in Los Angeles.
So, I'm hoping there's enough of you folks out there who like the show to keep me busy for a few seasons!

I like the show a lot.
The situations he gets into with helping people are sometimes a bit contrived, but I just never seem to get tired of watching him put the smack down on bad guys :D
I hope that they find ways to have Andre Braugher in the show a little more often - the give and take between he and David Morse is always interesting and very well done.
I'll be sticking around for a while, so NO SLEEPING ON THE JOB!! :D

I have no clue what telecine is.
But, I love the show, it's one of my favs of the season. But, how could it not be with Andre Braugher and David Morse, two of the finest actors in television?

I liked it, but don't have time or TiVo space for it now. I was going to pick it up when my first choice shows go to reruns.

Truer words were never spoken. I got into the show late but I look forward to it every week.
BTW, Ann (and anybody else), you should check out the movie The Crossing Guard. A few years old, with great performances by Morse and Jack Nicholson.

Telecine is the process in which the film shot for the show is transferred to videotape. We are responsible for the picture quality.

Cool! Question: Do you do the telecine on the final cut of the show, or do you do it before editing? I really hate it when it's done before editing, as it breaks the nice pattern and makes IVTC damn near impossible for people who are trying to scrimp on bits when archiving the show on DVD! :D
Also, do you actually have to do the transfer more than once, since it's being broadcast in multiple formats (NTSC, ATSC, etc.)?

I believe I missed the first episode, but have watched since. It's an SP that's staying around for now, for me.
I said once before, I think this could be the sleeper hit of this season.

Got all except the first episode (which I watched) sitting waiting for me to watch during the holiday reruns.
Can't wait to get into them.

We do the transfer the day after the film is shot. There are four recording decks running simultaneously: a Sony HDCAM 1080 24PsF deck getting a flat grade transfer( a minimal correction which allows room for more work to be done later), two Digital Betacams (SDTV), one 16x9, the other 4x3 centered, and a beta SP deck with time code burn in. The last three decks have a full color correction. The HD tape undergoes final color correction in LA after the edit.
It's a fascinating experience. I've been able to put the storyline together pretty well so far, but I won't post any spoilers here. The coolest part is seeing the actors take different approaches to their lines. I wonder which reads will be used in the final cut?

I enjoy watching "Hack" also. While it's obviously different, it has that same "help the little guy, and see to it that the bad guy gets it in the end" that I liked about "The Pretender".
Did anyone else have a problem with the episode that aired Friday, November 22, "Bad Choices"? My recording of it is silent for the first 30 minutes, but has normal sound for the last 30 minutes. Was this the same for everyone, or did it just affect my local airing of it (Dallas, TX)?

Yes.

I've seen the show once and it happened that I caught a really good episode. Haven't heard much about it in the Entertainment news world or in EW, so not sure if it'll survive all the reality tv shows.
