Source for good A/V Cables?

Anyone know a good source for quality A/V cables and accessories at reasonable prices? I've used smarthome.com before but they're pricey.

TIA

Radio Shack carries several different levels of cables at fairly reasonable prices as does many of the other retailers like CC and Best Buy.

RS's advantage is less of a problem with returns and a greater chance that the sales person will actually know what they are talking about when recomending things.

Thanks OldDog. I haven't been in a Rat Shack in a while but maybe it's worth a look.

IMO, RadioShack's cables are too expensive. I buy from CC or BB. Other than that I have gotten quite a few S-Video cables with new A/V gear that work just fine.

Incidentally, it goes without saying that monster cable and other "magic wires" are a ripoff and should be avoided at all costs.

I second the vote for Markertek. I've got a bunch of their TecNec s-video cables, and they are well built, affordable and perform well.

For optical digital cables, I'd recommend www.soundprofessionals.com . They also have very affordable coax->optical and optical->coax converters.

I'm not affiliated with either, except being a happy customer.

I especially like their Dayton line for quality and value.

I've purchased many cables from Accessories 4 Less and have been very happy with pricing, selection and shipment performance.

The Acoustic Research Pro line are a major step up from run-of-the-mill junk, but not nearly as expensive as Monster etc. stuff from BB, CC or GG. With the advent of my new Outlaw 950 pre/pro, I've outfitted my entire HT setup, including HDTV, with AR Pro cables, and am very happy with them.

Most 'expensive' cable supposed advantages are dubious, but there is something to be said, IMHO, for build quality.

I read on the monster cable web site that the amount of money you spend on cabling should be a specific percentage of what you spend on other A/V components.

I can understand how that guideline serves their business plan, but I was unconvinced of the benefits to me.

Ah, well, I'm glad that's settled
