Airnet in DirecTivo 3.1 (w/ DWL-650)? Need help!

So, using the PCMCIA ver of the DWL-650, and Airnet, I am trying to get my tivo back on the net. However, I am failing (so far) ...
Checking the logs, it seems the card is recognized, but, I am seeing an error that says something about the netmask not being set for route. I mounted the tivo disk and checked rc.net, and the only route I see is for the default route. AFAIK, it should not need a netmask. Unless, the tivo is not setting a route for the local network when the interface is brought up. I am seeing the mac address listed in my wireless AP config, so it seems the wireless portion is somewhat working.
I also tried using DHCP, but still no luck.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Greg

Hi,
The route warning is normal.
Try using a static IP address with WEP disabled and then tripple check the ssid. The ssid is case sensitive.
If you have serial access then try pinging out to the gateway.
Finally try running nic_install, choosing debug level 'test', booting the tivo, then pull the drive, run nic_install and dump the log file.
Make sure you change the debug level back to normal.

Did you get this working? I would very much like to purchase an Airnet card but need to know that it is working wiht the Dtivo 3.x software first.

My T-60 with airnet was upgraded to 3.1 this week; I had to pull the A drive and re-run the nic_install, but it now works perfectly again.

Just wondering....does it work well with the cover on? Are you using any kind of external antenna? Where's your WAP with respect to the T60? Thanks

Yes, I've got the cover on and it works fine with the DWL-650. The access point is in an upstairs closet about 25 feet (line-of-sight) and two insulated walls from the dtivo, the one location in the house which reaches every room with an acceptable signal. The imprecise signal meter sw for my laptop's Cisco 340 card shows a fairly strong signal level where the dtivo is.
