Wow, Dinotopia really sucks!

I rented this for my kids, the 6-hour mini-series from the summer and they enjoyed it (despite what I thought was some pretty bad acting on behalf of the brother characters). Now the series has begun, and Disney/ABC couldn't be making worse decisions. I don't know the logic behind "fire everyone" philosophy, but now every actor has been replaced. Good move for the brother characters, not so good a move in other areas. However, the writing has gone right into the toilet. It was already on the lip of the bowl, but now it's right in the dumper. This show needs (another) major rehaul, or it needs to be flushed. Kids don't have many escapist shows to watch that (could be) treated with respect. Many shows that could slip in moral tales are already geared to older audiences. So why does Disney/ABC crap all over this? Anyone else appalled at the horrible quality of this show?

I have to agree that it is pretty bad. It's even worse than the miniseries which also was not so good. I can't imagine that it will last very long. Oh well, it was an interesting premise...

If only it had started earlier in the season I would have been doing *much* better in the zap2it.com Dead Pool. :D

I have a son who loves anything to do with dinosaurs and he won't even consider watching this show.

Besides the acting and the plot, it's full of insidious Marxist socialist "feel good" propaganda

I really liked the original Marion from the miniseries. She had this ethereal quality about her. The new actress reminds me too much of Jane Seymour, for some reason.

...and in this week's episode, which otherwise is no improvement whatsoever, Lisa Zane hams it up delightfully as a semi-villain, who looks like she's a regular (she's in the opening credits).

Maybe for the seven minutes this thing stays on the air, I'll keep my season pass, and just FF through the parts that Lisa Zane isn't in! :D
