I jsut got this older TiVo unit from a friend and when I plug it in it tells me

A severe error has occured Leave the unit plugged and phone plugged in. Wait for upto 2 hrs for it to fix itself. The unit just keeps rebooting and goes back to that same Green screen.

What can I do to fix this problem? Any suggestions?

Ok... I think somethin is wrong on the HD. Now what do I do? If I buy a HD and install it how can I get a virgin image on there??

More info is needed... what model?

You should be able to go out and buy a hard drive (or two depending on the model) and replace it.

Do a search on "FTP Image" and you'll find what you're looking for.

the tivo is a ptv300. HDR31203 Those are the numbers off the back.
