So to get it back, do I have to reflash the PROM or just kill the initrd again with...
dd if=/dev/zero of=dev/hdc3 bs=1k seek=852 count=1196 ?
and then recopy the elseed files onto the newly activated partition? Or do I have to reflash AND kill initrd?

as posted before, you can get bash access to 3.1 by using kill_initrd from the turbonet install disk, then applying the standard rc.sysinit mods.

if you previously flashed your prom (via turbonet install, 25xtreme, or otherwise), then you should be fine. 3.1 doesnt overwrite the prom

Haha. I read the title of this thread and thought, "Wow, they implemented onscreen caller-id in 3.1? Cool!" I guess that's not what this thread is about, though. So there still is a need for elseed.
