I was searching on my TiVo for Christmas specials last night and I was wondering....What is your favorite Christmas special?
Posted by: TomK
Not sure what qualifies as a 'special' but I always like 'It's a Wonderful Life' and 'Frosty The Snowman' and 'Rudolph' and definitely 'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' cartoon.

I have a yearly tradition I have been keeping up for several years on Christmas Eve.
Being single with no kids the night is mine to do what I wish so I always watch my triple header of favorite Christmas shows
It starts with the animated version of How The Grinch Stole Christmas followed up by It's a Wonderful Life and finishing with the Alastair Simm version of A Christmas Carol (I believe it is actually just called Scrooge)
Tomorrow I think I will sit down and start doing some searches so I can record some other favorites I have not seen in years like Rudolph, Frosty, Charlie Brown, etc.

I closed-captioned it a couple months ago for NBC. They're supposedly airing it for its 40th anniversary, but I don't see it in the TiVo alphabetical listings, so it's not airing within the next 10 days, at least.
Be warned that it looks like they've cut a substantial portion out of it to make room for the amount of commercials in prime-time TV these days. For example, one of the characters listed on the IMDB ("Stage Manager") isn't even in what I captioned.
However, I did really enjoy captioning the lines "We've all been very good/From me down to the baby/And we're not made of wood/Or razzleberry graby."
Anyway, I have to echo the sentiments in this thread for "A Charlie Brown Christmas." For those of you who haven't seen it this year, it's followed by about 25 minutes of new animation called "Charlie Brown's Christmas Tales," which is taken from various Christmas-themed "Peanuts" strips, some of which are pretty funny. I closed-captioned that, too. :D
