Just got caught up with Taken. I started late, but thanks to the marathon this past weekend I saw it from the beginning. What I had trouble with is keeping the characters separate because of the quick scene changes. Now that we are in 1996, I seem to be able to keep them separate.
Thanks to TiVo, I saw the first 5 episodes in about 3.75 hours.:)
Rant on:
On screen bugs and advertising during the show. I found the new and improved Sci Fi logo/bug to be annoying and too bright. They also would take up a lot of screen space just to tell us that we are watching 'Taken' or to advertise upcoming shows during the show. Just a vision of things to come. Since Hollywood is getting upset with their content being altered, I wonder if they will complain about these?

General Question about taken:
Much of the show is based on the mythology of the UFO movement(Rosewell, Area 51, crop circles that turn out to be hoaxes, etc.), but there is one aspect I haven't heard of before.
Are there really accounts of people who can make other people flip out just by looking at them? I've never heard of this.

I dunno, the nuns when I was in Catholic school would give me the evil eye at regular intervals. Always gave me the willies :(

OK, but we're talking about aliens here...

I think they stole that bit straight out of X-Files, actually.

I posted about this twice in another Taken thread. To me - the new bug makes things on Sci-Fi almost unwatchable.
I agree it is WAY too bright and to me it appears that it is floating almost half way toward the center of the screen.
When I do record Taken (they are going to marathon it) - I plan on puting a piece of cardboard over that part of the screen to cover it. When the lights are low - everything will be fine :)
I think you and I are the only ones bothered by it.

Either that or when the Alien (that was supposed to be dead) when his eyes fipped open to flat black to "record" the kissing scene reminded me of Independence Day.
I hope it doesn't end up like that old cheesy flick "V The Final Battle" when the little blond hybrid girl wraps her hands around some techno babble-box, starts to shimmer all over and stops the mothership from exploding.

This isn't affecting my enjoyment of the show, not really, but ever since the Lisa character got old enough that they stopped using make-up and soft filters to make her younger, she looks so much like a former girlfriend of mine, I freak out a little every time she shows up on the screen.
While watching tonight's episode, without giving anything away, I contemplated the wisdom of planning military action against beings about whose power all we know is that it is beyond anything we can come up with an explanation for...
Maybe that's why they never invited me to work at the Pentagon.

One other comment... Jessie Key's son was named Charlie.
I think its unlikely that a Vietnam combat vet would name his son "Charlie."
