What shows refuse to sit in your Tivo?

Which shows do you watch IMMEDIATELY.......
Currently 24 is it for me. Firefly might be if it were not for the evening. Sopranos was one if not for occasional Sunday nite football. Six Feet under will be on the list when it comes back as might The Shield.
You???

I tend to watch nothing immediately. I wait at least 20 minutes.
Though what I think you mean are there shows you watch at least that night.......
Given that:
24
Alias
Survivor
Amazing Race
......other reality.......er...ahem....The Bachelor....and I guess....er.....Joe Millionaire
Posted by: Family
Yeah I should correct.... nothing gets watched "the old fashioned live". Tivo has change the definition of that.
I mean IMMEDIATE in the sense that once the commercials are out of the way sometime during that nite.

Fox NFL Sunday and NFL Primetime. Otherwise I have far too many shows on the brink of being deleted to do anything but watch the oldest first. That means watching something that's about two weeks old.

Currently, my list of shows watched that night are:
TAR3
Friends
Taken
The Real World: Las Vegas
The Simpsons

Buffy, Angel, Firefly (notice a pattern?) and 24 are the big ones. Alias was one last year, but not this year. Also at the moment Taken is on my list, but that'll be finished after this week.
I also try to watch Survivor and The Amazing Race the same night, just so I don't have to worry about overhearing any spoilers the next day.
Currently, the oldest show on my Tivo is from 2/23/02, and it's not even marked SUID. I just haven't felt like watching it yet. BTW, I switched from SAs to DTivos in mid-February, so it had to be one of the first shows I recorded.

Buffy reruns on FX right now are the only shows that get watched every night and deleted. I try to watch 24 each night so I can participate in the duscussions here, but it just doesn't happen very often.

Boomtown
Alias
Smallville
Firefly

I pretty much watch everything the same night. I like watching tv every night and the Tivo lets me take my time putting my son to bed and read that story an extra 5 times.
But to clarify, that is prime time stuff. I also catch movies and other specials on cable channels that I watch whenever.

First priority is always Buffy. We always watch The Sopranos as soon as it shows up in Now Playing, but that's never on Sunday night because it conflicts with Alias. Alias never sits on the drive very long, nor does Smallville or Six Feet Under (during new episodes). Since returning to the Charmed fold, we watch it pretty shortly after it appears on the list.
Conversely, regular series episodes that we always record, but which reside on the drive the longest: Hack, Law & Order, Third Watch, and, since this season's unfortunate decline in quality (IMO), Ed.

Alias - Just love the show
24 & TAR3 - Water cooler talk the next day (and love them as well)
When the new seasons start up....
The Shield
Six Feet Under
The Wire

Alias
Boomtown
King of Queens (usually)
24
Gilmore Girls
West Wing
Friends
W&G
Friends is actually the one show we watch closest to live...and GG....everything else we delay at least 15 minutes....

Sunday: Alias, Sopranos.
Monday: Third Watch.
Tuesday: Gilmore girls, Smallville, Buffy.
Thursday: CSI.
Friday: John Doe.
Most everything else on my TiVo is viewed within 72 hours of its being recorded. But getting stuff from my old PC to my new iMac may push that back to 4-5 days.
Right now I'm sitting on all of the episodes from "Taken" -- Lord only knows when I'll have time for a marathon viewing session.

Third Watch
Jag
Smallville
NHL2Night
These are the 4 that I generally watch right away.... NHL2Night especially since it is old news if I let it go beyond 24 hours.

I try to watch NFL football on Sunday evenings. Too many times, I've accidentally overheard on the radio the next morning who won the game. Also, Mondays is when all the sportswriters write their analysis of the game and post it on the Internet. Since our local online newspaper changes their stories daily, I can't seem to find as extensive analysis after Monday.

I usually watch everything the same evening. Since I work nights (get home around midnight) I usually have about 1-2 hours of TV to watch, however this week with Taken and new Lettermans it will be a challenge. The worst night this week will be tonight (Wednesday) with Enterprise, Twilight Zone, Lettermen and Taken, that's 5 hours to watch!

West wing
Boston Public
Soprannos
Crossing Jordan

I watch Survivor as soon as I walk in the door from my Girl Scout meetings. Then, I usually stay up late watching Friends, Will and Grace, Scrubs, CSI and ER. Rarely will I stay up to watch Without a Trace, but i do manage to watch it the next day.
I try to watch TAR on Wednesdays... but sometimes I wait until Thursday morning. And I try hard to watch The Practice on Sundays.
What is really sitting on my Tivo right now are a bunch of Enterprise and John Doe's.

24, Alias, Firefly. Except I sometimes fall behind. This week I've seen neither Alias nor 24 yet, but not for lack of wanting to!

I watch Boston Public 100% live because my mom also watches it, and sometimes during a commercial break one of us will call the other to say "Did you see that?". I watch 24 near-live (frequent pauses & FF past commercials) so I don't get bit by spoilers. I usually watch Enterprise & Birds of Prey near-live just because I'm home anyway. Most of the other shows get juggled somewhen else.

Any football game.
For shows, the Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Mind of the Married Man, Sex and the City. In other words, the Sunday HBO shows. Oh yeah, Survivor too.
All other shows are watched at least a day later.

Alias! What a great show.
Then:
AR3
Friends
ER
Survivor
Most of the other stuff I watch can wait.

Shows I watch on the night they are recorded
24
Alias
Buffy
Angel
Sorprano's
Gilmore Girls
Everwood
Futurama (when NFL doesn't run long)
Posted by: Maui
Shows I watch slightly delayed but almost always watch the same night they are on.
Buffy
24
Ed
West Wing
Friends
Others would be there but scheduling is the culprit. The original CSI would be on the list But I am usually watching Will and Grace live at the time.
9:00 pm (central time) shows and conflicts are usually the ones that get left for the next day. Friday's shows are usually saved for the weekends because I don't record any Sat shows at all.

Alias

The Late Show with David Letterman (NATCH)
No Boundaries (OLN)
Curb Your Enthusiasm (used to)

We watch several shows i"live" or within 10 minutes of the start of broadcast, and delete them immediately when they're done. We only have season passes on them so we don't have to frantically program the TiVo or make sure its on the right channel when something comes up . This includes:
ABC Evening News
24
Six Feet Under
Sopranos
Most of what sits on our TiVo for a day or more are movies, shows that conflict with other shows or shows on while I'm working or sleeping.

Anything broadcast in HD that I Tivo but happen to be home for. HD just makes such a HUGE difference in picture quality it's worth the frustration of commercial breaks. I'll usually find something else to do in those breaks, and if I miss little parts of the show, I'll hit pause on the Tivo remote and can see that part later that evening. I can also resolve 3-way conflicts that way (the only one I can think of is Sundays at 9, with Sopranos, Alias, Malcolm, L&O CI and Angel -- 5WAY Conflict and all in HD! -- fortunately some are repurposed or rerun)
Otherwise, Football and The Shield - Mondays at 10 are "Shield Night" at my house. The Tivo is great because there is ALWAYS a scene/line we want to rewind a few times...
