Horizontal or Vertical......

Do you think it really matters which way the TiVo is positioned-- horizontally or vertically?

I bought a new Series 2 for my parents for Christmas and where they would put it is cramped unless turned on its side. I figure I would put some aftermarket stick-on rubber feet on the side to cut down on vibration.

The only real issue I could think of is the hard drive . . . but in data centers everywhere, disks are mounted vertically in all the storage arrays so I would guess it shouldn't be an issue.

Just thought I'd ask for some collective wisdom........

As it states in the FAQ TiVos work just fine on their side.

Keep in mind the right side of the TiVo box is the HOT (exit air) side. Make sure you set it "right" side UP...

Good luck!

And don't move it while it's powered up.
