Does anyone have a UK tivo backup?

I think I've managed to mess up my tivo. does anyone have a UK tivo backup image available for a 40Gb drive they'd be willing to make avaiable so I can start from scratch?

Thanks in advance.

Stu.

I've got the TIVO running with the loan of a second 120Gb drive, but would still like an imageto replace teh original 40Gb drive if possible.

Just take a compressed backup off the 120. (MFS Tools should say 'backup size 40Hours' if it divorces correctly). It'll fit on your A drive if as long as you don't use -s 127.

So I can take a backup from a dual 120Gb setup and put it back onto a 40Gb Drive? I didn't think I could do that.

the key phrase is "if it divorces correctly" - it rarely does from a UK dual drive tivo. Remember that you must use the -l 32 switch to save the backgrounds with the backup.

Ok, question still stands then. Does anyone have a 40Gb or less UK tivo backup they'd be willing to make available please?

This is not a dual-drive machine. The divorce merely consists of dropping the extra partition on the large drive. This should work unless you have some /really/ short recordings on the TiVo.

Try it. If it doesn't work come back and we'll give you a link.

I'm not giving you the runaround, you should not have a problem making the image you need from your current drive.

Ok thanks, I'll give it a go over the next day or two.

Sorry poor terminology on my part, I meant two-drive.

I have no short recordings, but I can't backup my tivo. I think I was unlucky (I did the upgrade before I got 2.5.5) and when it upgraded to 2.5.5 the new alphabet background must have landed in the wrong partition :(

This is what I got when I tried to do a backup today (hdb is my A drive, hdd is my B drive):

code:
mfsbackup -l 32 -6so /mnt/e/tivo.bak /dev/hdb /dev/hdd source drive is 39 hours - upgraded to 130 hours - upgraded to 178 hours backup image will be 178 hours

So my only option to get a divorced backup was to forfeit the background. I ran again without the "-l 32":
code:
mfsbackup -6so /mnt/e/tivo2.bak /dev/hdb /dev/hdd source drive is 39 hours - upgraded to 130 hours - upgraded to 178 hours backup image will be 39 hours

Not ideal, and I hope I won't have to use it, but I didn't have much choice :(
