Problems with http_get and daily call over network

I've searched everywhere I can think of and never come across any mention of this/these problem(s).

I've got a Hughes series 1, recently upgraded to 3.1. I've added a 2nd 60GB HDD and a TurboNet card from 9th tee. I have telnet access (by following Steve Jenkins' instructions) to the TiVo from my home PC. Now when I try to do an http_get to get the tivoweb download (Steve's section 4.4) I get :-

bash-2.02#http_get -T 0 -C 0 -D /var/hack -U http://199.240.141.102:80/tivoweb-<....4.beta5.tar.gz
connect failed, reason = No route to host
Segmentation fault

The route cmd shows 192.168.1.1 as the default gateway on eth0 which is correct.

I suspect this is related to the other problem - the daily call fails over the network. I have attached a fragment from the /var/log/http file (next post down ;-). Basically its a cache-miss from my isp (X-Squid-Error: ERR_CONNECT_FAIL 111 and X-Cache: MISS from http://www.americanisp.net/)

Are these two problems related? Can I ask my isp to fix this?

Thanks is advance for any help!

Well, some progress at last. I stumbled across the 'transparent proxy' problem thread. I asked my ISP if they could exclude the TiVo address range (204.176.49.0/24) from the cache and they did - it took them all of 4 minutes! Is this a record? (American ISP in Littleton, CO).

Now things get interesting...

Does anyone know what error 327685 0x50005 is?

Here are some lines from the tclient logfile generated by me making a test call:-
