Thanks to everyone who helped me get a S2 disk image for the one that Windows XP stupidly corrupted on me. I've now upgraded to a quality new system.
Quick question though - why did my tivo become a 220 hour when I added a 120GB to a 60GB instead of a 180HR? Is something wrong?
If you need a working S2 image (Soft v 3.0), PM me.

The ratio of GB to hours is not 1:1, but it's close for units with a single smallish disk. I have a single 120GB drive in my Sony, and I get 141 hours. 220 hours sounds a little high for 180GB total space, but I wouldn't complain.

I noticed the hours estimate that MFStools reports was a tad optimistic when I did my HDVR2 last night--I forget exactly what it reported, but with 2x120G inside, I knew I'd be looking at about 212 hours, and the tools told me over 300....I kinda laughed and thought "I Wish" Knowing full well one day I would get that when the disk size barrier is broken completely and easily!
After I fired my box back up, it nicely reported 212 (variable) hours available.

MFS Tools 2 guesstimates for a standalone TiVo ratio.

That makes sense, I was guessing that way, but it really didn't matter...all that had been written here told me in no uncertain terms that the 120 limit x2 was 212 hours, so.. That's what I was expecting and that's what I got!
What's the phrase? TANSTAAFL ??? I guess it applies to a hoped for 300+ hours but taking the guaranteed 212. :)
