While I have noticed a slight lag (even without a frame of reference), my problem is worse. Occasionally, my remote will just go crazy, the red light at the stop will STAY on, and nothing will work until I manual reboot it (e.g. take batteries out, put back in). This happens more when the batteries are running out, but either way its annoying.

This seems to happen with our remotes if we press too many buttons at once or repeatedly pressing the same button too fast for the remote to handle such as using the 30sec skip 10 times in a row before TiVo had finished skipping ahead the first time. We just learned to use the remote a tad bit slower.
